Human rights activist, Francis Nwapa, has strongly condemned the revocation of the bail of human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, and his remand in Kuje Correctional Centre. Nwapa described the remand and his violent arrest by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) as "a direct assault on the dignity of the court and on the democratic rights of Nigerians."

The activist had requested an adjournment to June 16, but the court ruled that the request did not provide sufficient justification.
