Sowore was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre by a Federal High Court in Abuja pending the hearing of his application challenging the revocation of his bail.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has condemned the arrest and detention of activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, by the Department of State Services (DSS), describing the development as a “national disgrace” and an attack on Nigeria’s democratic values.

Sowore was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre by a Federal High Court in Abuja pending the hearing of his application challenging the revocation of his bail.

Justice Mohammed Umar had dismissed Sowore’s application seeking his recusal from the case over allegations of bias and adjourned hearing on the motion for stay of execution to June 24.

Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, Frank demanded Sowore’s immediate and unconditional release, insisting that the activist had committed no offence warranting his arrest or continued detention.
