They described the revocation of his bail as partisan and accused the government of persecuting and harassing the activist.
A large number of supporters of human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, on Monday gathered outside the Federal High Court in Abuja to protest the revocation of his bail and demand justice for the activist.
Sowore, who is standing trial over allegations of insulting and cyberbullying President Bola Tinubu, had his bail revoked on June 16, 2026, by Justice Mohammed Umar after the court ruled that he was absent from the proceedings.
The court had earlier adjourned the case to June 16, 2026, following disruptions caused by the relocation of the court and administrative challenges, including delays in assembling the necessary court officials.
However, in a letter dated June 15, 2026, Sowore requested a new hearing date to enable him secure the services of a new lawyer to represent him in the matter.
