The protesters, who converged on the court complex in the early hours of Tuesday, carried placards and chanted solidarity songs, insisting that Sowore should be released without further delay.

Tension escalated at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday as protesters gathered at the court premises to demand the immediate and unconditional release of presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.

This is as heavily armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) prevented them from demonstrating in front of the court.
