…Calls for respect for freedom of expression, warns against misuse of judicial process

Amnesty International has called on Nigerian authorities to immediately reverse the reported revocation of the bail granted to activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, describing the move as a troubling development that undermines fundamental human rights, including liberty, fair trial and freedom of expression.

The rights organisation made the call in a statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) platform on Thursday, reacting to proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Sowore was reportedly ordered to be arrested over his alleged absence from court.
