MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was maintained over six areas in Northern Luzon after Tropical Storm (TS) Maymay made landfall over Magsingal, Ilocos Sur early Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on its weather bulletin that Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over the following areas due to gale-force winds of 62 to 88 kilometers (km) per hour brought by Maymay.
Meanwhile, Wind Signal No. 1 was also issued over the following areas on Thursday due to strong winds of 39 to 61 km per hour:
TS Maymay made landfall over Magsingal, Ilocos Sur at 2:00 a.m, and as of 4 a.m, it is estimated within the vicinity of San Juan, Ilocos Sur, traversing Northern Luzon. It packs maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 110 km per hour.
