MANILA, Philippines – Maymay (Kujira) weakened from a tropical storm into a tropical depression while crossing the province of Abra at 8 am on Thursday, August 6, six hours after hitting land.
Maymay made landfall in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, at 2 am, then started crossing Northern Luzon.
In a briefing past 11 am, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Maymay was already in the vicinity of Tanudan, Kalinga, as of 10 am.
