MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira) maintained its strength as six areas remained under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 on Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, the state weather bureau said.
In its 8 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Maymay had maximum sustained wind speeds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 80 kph.
Maymay had the same maximum sustained wind speeds and gustiness in Pagasa’s 5 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin.
