MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Storm Maymay (Kujira) is now expected to dump intense to torrential rain in La Union and Benguet within 24 hours, the weather bureau warned the public at 11 am on Wednesday, August 5.
The slow-moving tropical storm was last spotted 185 kilometers west northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, as of 10 am.
It is heading north at just 10 kilometers per hour, still with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gustiness of up to 80 km/h, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
