CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Classes in all levels and work in government offices in La Union are suspended on Tuesday, Aug. 4, as the province remains under an Orange Rainfall Warning due to the combined effects of Tropical Cyclone Luis and the southwest monsoon (habagat).
The suspension was ordered through Executive Order No. 41 issued by Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega to ensure public safety amid persistent heavy rains affecting the province.
The executive order also encouraged private companies to suspend work.
Government offices providing essential services, including health, disaster risk reduction and management, and emergency response, however, will continue operations to ensure uninterrupted delivery of critical public services.
