MANILA, Philippines — The two low-pressure areas (LPAs) and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, are forecast to bring heavy rains over the country on Tuesday, Aug. 4, the state weather bureau said.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Veronica Torres said during a 5 a.m weather advisory that although the LPAs have a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, it will bring rains over parts of Northern and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is likely to affect Metro Manila and parts of Southern Luzon, as well as the western section of Visayas.
