Rashaad "Boontjie" Daniels
Rashaad “Boontjie” Daniels, charged with the murder of 31-year-old Suraan Windvogell from Kewtown, made his first appearance in the Athlone Magistrates Court on Monday, with residents dubbing him the “Black bag killer".
Gory details emerged during court proceedings, where the State revealed that witnesses said they could hear the sound of plastic and sellotape being used inside the bedroom where Windvogel was allegedly murdered.
It was further revealed that they observed a stench coming from the bedroom, noting that they did not see her for about two days and that Daniels had allegedly asked for assistance in disposing of the body.
Windvogel was an engineer from Bokmakierie and her decomposing body was found hidden inside a black refuse bag along the sidewalk along Cross Boulevard in Kewtown on June 22.
