Rashaad Daniels, known as the 'Black bag killer', has been charged with murder for the death of engineer Suraan Windvogel, whose body was found in a refuse bag in Athlone.
Daniels, 61, appared in the Athlone Magistrate's Court on June 29 in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Windvogell from Kewtown.
Gory details emerged during court proceedings, where the State revealed that witnesses said they could hear the sound of plastic and sellotape being used inside the bedroom where Windvogel was allegedly murdered.
It was further revealed that they observed a stench coming from the bedroom, noting that they did not see her for about two days and that Daniels had allegedly asked for assistance in disposing of the body.
