The decomposed body of Suraan Windvogel, from Bokmakierie was found in a black bag along the sidewalk of Cross Boulevard, in Kewtown, on Monday July 22.
The alleged killer of 31-year-old Suraan Windvogel has been remanded to Pollsmoor Prison following his first court appearance yesterday, Monday, July 29.
The case heard in the Athlone Magistrates Court, against Rashaad Daniels, from Kewtown, was postponed for a formal bail application on Monday, July 6. He is being charged with the murder of the Bokmakierie engineer whose decomposed body was found in a black bag along the sidewalk of Cross Boulevard in Kewtown on Monday, June 22.
Athlone police station's spokeswoman, Sergeant Zita Norman, said that Kewtown residents fear for their lives and are horrified by such a brutal incident. She said that the house in which Suraan was last seen alive is a well-known drug house and has been an issue for months already.
According to Norman, Suraan was seen entering the house on Sunday, June 21, with her boyfriend, and the next day, she came alone.
