Suraan Windvogel was found this week in Kewtown, Athlone.
Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the death of Kewtown engineer Suraan Windvogel.
Cops are also awaiting vital DNA tests, including the post-mortem report. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, said: “No new developments to report and no arrests yet.”
Earlier, Windvogel’s family confirmed that she was an engineer who fell on hard times after suffering a breakdown and was struggling with bipolar disorder. They confirmed that her name was, in fact, Suraan Windvogel and not Shamshad Erasmus, as shared widely on social media, and that she was 31 and not 28, as first revealed by SAPS.
Windvogel, who had no children, was found dead on a sidewalk in Cross Boulevard Street in Kewtown, Athlone. She was hidden inside two bags, one of which was a black refuse bag and a large blue canvas.
