Friends, family and community members gathered to bid farewell to Suraan Windvogel who was murdered in Athlone last month.
Mourners gathered to pay their last respects at her janaazah (funeral) on Sunday, July 11.
Eighth Avenue in Bokmakierie, where the 31-year-old lived with her older sister, nephews, and nieces was a hive of activity as the salaah-tul-janaazah (prayer for the deceased) was performed outside her home. The funeral procession then made its way to Johnson Road maqbara (cemetery), where Windvogel was laid to rest in her mother's grave.
Family, friends, and residents attended the janaazah at 10am on Saturday July 11.
