Explosive medical evidence is expected to take centre stage when the murder trial of Hanover Park mother Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn resumes, with the State set to call witnesses who are expected to detail the devastating injuries she allegedly suffered in the weeks before her death.
The Western Cape High Court, sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, is expected to hear testimony from the doctor who first treated Pasqualle-Hoorn after she was admitted to hospital on June 28, 2024, as well as the forensic pathologist who conducted her post-mortem examination following her death a month later.
The evidence is expected to provide the court with its clearest picture yet of the condition Pasqualle-Hoorn was in after the incident that left her fighting for her life.
Duncan Hoorn has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the administration of justice.
