Duncan Hoorn got emotional in court

The Western Cape High Court has heard a series of emotional voicenotes by murder-accused Duncan Hoorn who begged his wife, Chantal Pasqualle-Hoorn's family, for forgiveness saying he had become "blind", felt alone and was deeply sorry.

The High Court, sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, on Wednesday heard testimony from the State's second witness, Pasqualle-Hoorn's brother-in-law, who described how Hoorn confided in him in the days and weeks following the incident that ultimately left his wife in a coma.

Hoorn has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the administration of justice.

Taking the stand, the witness told the court that he had known Hoorn for nearly two decades, having befriended him when he first started dating Pasqualle-Hoorn around 20 years ago.
