Duncan Hoorn apologized for showing middle finger to the media
After nearly a month-long adjournment, the trial of the man accused of the murder of his wife Duncan Hoorn resumed on Monday with the State bringing an application to admit hearsay evidence relating to what Chantel Pasqualle-Hoorn's late nephew allegedly witnessed on the night she was fatally assaulted.
The Western Cape High Court, currently sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, heard that the State is seeking the admission of a written statement made by Keanu Pasqualle regarding the events of June 27, 2024.
Hoorn has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the administration of justice.
The application follows earlier testimony heard during the trial from Pasqualle-Hoorn's sister, who told the court she phoned Keanu after hearing her sister pleading for help during a telephone call with Hoorn.
