Chantal Pasquelle with her husband Duncan “Lord” Hoorn.
The murder trial of Duncan Hoorn has been postponed until July 27, with the State indicating that it still intends calling additional expert witnesses as it continues to build its case against the Hanover Park man accused of killing his wife, Chantal Pasqualle-Hoorn.
The Western Cape High Court, currently sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, heard on Monday that proceedings are expected to resume from July 27 to July 30.
State Advocate Renée Uys informed the court that the medical experts who have testified thus far were secured at short notice and that the prosecution still intends calling two additional expert witnesses.
Uys told the court that sufficient time was needed to ensure the remaining witnesses are available to testify.
