Chilling voice notes by murder-accused Duncan Hoorn hours before the imminent attack on his wife, Chantal Pasqualle-Hoorn, is expected to be thrust in the spotlight as the trial gets under way.
Hoorn appeared in the Western Cape High Court, currently sitting in the Wynberg Regional Court, for the commencement of his trial, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, murder and defeating the administration of justice.
The State alleges that Hoorn kidnapped and fatally assaulted his wife of 10 years on June 28, 2024, following an argument linked to alleged infidelity.
Pasqualle-Hoorn succumbed to her injuries a month later after remaining in a coma.The State has indicated that they are ready to proceed with their first witness - believed to be the recipient of the voicenotes.
