The mother of a man who was stabbed to death by his lover and her former lover has called for the harshest punishment of her son’s killer, stating that while she is sorry the woman has to go to prison, she has to pay for what she has done.
Marina Henderson spoke out on Wednesday as she awaited the sentencing of Antoinette Maritz, who was earlier found guilty of the premeditated murder of Wayne Henderson, along with the assault of his mother, Marina.
The mother was devastated when the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, had to postpone the sentencing of Maritz as the pre-sentencing report was not yet ready. She will now only be sentenced on July 21.
While Marina’s scars had healed after she was hit three times on the head with an ashtray by Maritz and her former lover, Johan George Pratt, the mother said the emotional scars are still raw.
