Antoinette Martiz, who was convicted of killing her partner, was handed down a life imprisonment sentence.

A Pretoria mother, Antoinette Maritz, who was convicted of the premeditated murder of her partner, Wayne Henderson, and the attempted murder of his mother, will serve a life imprisonment term.

The Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, on Wednesday sentenced the 37-year-old, who was found to have orchestrated the brutal killing, to the maximum penalty after no mitigating factors could be found to warrant a lesser sentence.

Her co-accused, Johan Pratt, received a 30-year direct prison sentence last year after reaching a plea and sentencing agreement with the State.

On the night of November 5, 2023, Maritz opened the gate of the Suiderberg home she shared with Henderson and his mother. She allowed Pratt to enter through the window at the back of the house. This set in motion a deadly chain of events inside the home she shared with the victim and his mother.
