The African Action Congress (AAC) has condemned the remand of its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Kuje Correctional Centre, describing the development as a politically motivated attempt to silence the opposition figure. In a statement issued on Tuesday, and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Rex I. Elanu, the party alleged that the order by Justice M.G. Umar was part of a broader effort by the administration of President Bola Tinubu to suppress dissent and weaken democratic opposition.
