According to him, the cybercrime charge against Sowore was “trumped up” and constituted a deliberate attempt to suppress dissent and intimidate Nigerians advocating change.

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Osun State, Olajide Esan, has strongly condemned the revocation of the bail granted to the AAC presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, describing the court decision as an illegal attack on justice and constitutional rights.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Osogbo, Esan said that the ruling of Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja was aimed at silencing voices demanding accountability and reforms in Nigeria.

According to him, the cybercrime charge against Sowore was “trumped up” and constituted a deliberate attempt to suppress dissent and intimidate Nigerians advocating change.

“The revocation of Comrade Omoyele Sowore's bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja is a dangerous and illegal assault on justice, fair hearing, and the constitutional rights of every Nigerian,” Esan said.
