Rise Mzansi Chief Whip, Makashule Gana, the chairperson of the Impeachment Committee, said President Cyril Ramaphosa’s review application could mean the committee’s work remains suspended for years.

Impeachment Committee chairperson Makashule Gana is expected to be in attendance at the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday and Thursday where President Cyril Ramaphosa’s urgent interdict will be heard.

Ramaphosa filed papers last month seeking an interdict against the committee.

In his court papers, Ramaphosa said he had launched an application to review and set aside the Independent Panel's report, which is expected to be heard from September 2 to 4 this year.
