President Cyril Ramaphosa has filed papers seeking an interdict against the impeachment committee.
The Chairperson of the Impeachment Committee, Makashule Gana, will be in attendance at the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday and Thursday as President Cyril Ramaphosa’s urgent interdict will be heard.
Ramaphosa filed papers last month seeking an interdict against the committee.
In his court papers, Ramaphosa said he had launched an application to review and set aside the Independent Panel's report, which is expected to be heard from 2 to 4 September this year.
He said his interdict application "is far more modest", only seeking to pause the impeachment process until the court has ruled on the review application.
