The group urged Nigerians to view the development within what it described as a broader pattern of attacks against the presidential candidate of "the only revolutionary party" participating in the 2027 elections.

The Socialist Workers League (SWL) has condemned the revocation of the bail granted to presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, describing the development as a dangerous assault on democratic rights and political opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement jointly signed by the party's National Chairperson, Kelvin Ayemhenre, and the Deputy National Secretary, Lekan Abdulazeez Soneye (LAS), the organisation demanded the immediate reversal of the court order revoking Sowore's bail.

The group urged Nigerians to view the development within what it described as a broader pattern of attacks against the presidential candidate of "the only revolutionary party" participating in the 2027 elections.

According to the statement, the revocation of Sowore's bail comes amid growing concerns over the independence of Nigeria's judiciary.
