UAD further alleged that the development was not limited to Sowore’s case alone, but formed part of a broader strategy to silence activism linked to insecurity protests.

A pro-democracy group, United Actions for Democracy (UAD), has condemned the revocation of bail granted to activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, describing it as part of an alleged attempt to silence dissent under the President Bola Tinubu administration.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its General Secretary, Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, the group said the move was aimed at suppressing opposition voices and discouraging ongoing protests over insecurity and kidnappings across the country.

“We have been informed about the said revocation of the bail of Comrade Omoyele Sowore, the Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and the leader of the revolutionary movement in Nigeria,” the statement read.

“This revocation is yet another plan by the President Tinubu regime to stifle all voices of dissent.”
