The development sparked tension within the court premises after operatives of the DSS moved to arrest Sowore immediately after the ruling.

The Revolutionary Socialist Movement (RSM) has issued a strongly worded statement condemning the violent actions of fhe Department of State Services (DSS) to human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore was on Monday remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre by the Federal High Court in Abuja after Justice Mohammed Umar revoked his bail in an ongoing trial linked to comments in which he described President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal.”

The development sparked tension within the court premises after operatives of the DSS moved to arrest Sowore immediately after the ruling.

Members of the African Action Congress (AAC) and the Take It Back Movement resisted the attempt by DSS operatives to seize the activist within the court premises, leading to a heated confrontation that drew the attention of lawyers, journalists, and supporters present in court.
