LUCENA CITY — Amid continuing extreme heat, at least eight areas in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region are expected to experience dangerous heat index levels on Saturday, May 16.

In its 5 p.m. forecast issued on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sangley Point in Cavite City, Cavite, and Tanauan City in Batangas are expected to register a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius.

The state weather bureau also forecast a heat index of 43°C in Alabat town in Quezon and Los Baños, Laguna, while Tayabas City and Infanta, also in Quezon, are expected to experience heat index levels of 42°C.
