The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has demanded the immediate release of human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, from detention. The organisation made the demand in a post on X, where it expressly called for Sowore's freedom amid mounting concerns over his continued detention and the circumstances surrounding his recent court appearance. SERAP wrote: "Free Sowore, drop charges".

They described the revocation of his bail as partisan and accused the government of persecuting and harassing the activist.
