A court in Larissa, central Greece, sentenced a man to two years in prison without parole for domestic assault against his pregnant partner.

During the trial, the defendant denied slapping her and refused a criminal mediation program. Although the victim described the altercation, she asked the judge for leniency.

The prosecutor noted the victim acted out of fear, leading the court to order the immediate execution of the sentence.
