A yellow weather warning for intense rainfall has been issued for parts of six Bulgarian regions for Wednesday, with Vidin, Montana, Sofia Region, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Vratsa facing the risk of heavy showers, thunderstorms and hail.

Northwestern Bulgaria will see mostly cloudy conditions overnight, with intense rainfall and thunderstorms possible in some areas. Southern and eastern parts of the country will remain mostly clear during the night.

Winds will initially be moderate from the east, but after midnight they will turn west-northwesterly in northwestern Bulgaria. During Wednesday, winds across the country will gradually shift to the west-northwest, becoming moderate to strong. The change will bring cooler air into Bulgaria.

Cloud cover will be variable and often substantial, with developing rain clouds. Short-lived showers and thunderstorms are expected in many areas as the weather system moves from west to east. Hail is also possible.

Daytime temperatures will range between 29 and 34 degrees Celsius, with around 30 degrees expected in Sofia.
