Homa Teymouri and her husband, Yaser Azadeh, two graduate degree holders from Tarbiat Modares University and Shahid Beheshti University, were sentenced to five years in prison each following their arrest during the nationwide protests in January.

According to a report by the United Students Telegram channel, Homa Teymouri, a master’s graduate in Political Thought from Tarbiat Modares University, was sentenced to five years in prison by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, on charges of “assembly and collusion against national security.”

The report noted that, in addition to the prison sentence, the court handed Teymouri a two-year travel ban, a two-year prohibition on social media activity, and ordered the confiscation of her mobile phone.

Yaser Azadeh, a master’s graduate in Western Philosophy from Shahid Beheshti University and Teymouri’s husband, received a five-year prison sentence in the same legal case.
