Hadiseh Morvaridi, a participant in the January nationwide protests who is currently held at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, has been sentenced to a total of three years in prison across two separate cases by judicial authorities.
According to the HRANA news agency, the news outlet of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, the sentences against Ms. Morvaridi were handed down in two separate cases in Mashhad. Based on information obtained by the news agency, she was sentenced to two years in prison on the charge of “insulting the Supreme Leader” in one case and to one year in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the system” in another. It was also reported that she has been transferred from the Aramesh Ward of Vakilabad Prison to Ward 1 of the same facility.
Hadiseh Morvaridi, 24, was arrested on January 8 in the city of Fariman in connection with the nationwide protests that took place earlier this year. HRANA stated that further details regarding the case, including the specific court branches that issued the rulings, remain under investigation.
