Mehdi Saver-Olya, a detainee from the January protests, has been sentenced to six years of discretionary imprisonment along with supplementary penalties by Branch 2 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court.
HRANA reported that the ruling was formally delivered to Saver-Olya, who is currently incarcerated in Karaj Central Penitentiary.
The Karaj Revolutionary Court sentenced him to one year in prison for “propaganda against the system” and five years for “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security.”
Under Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the more severe penalty, the five-year sentence, will be enforceable.
As supplementary punishments, the court also imposed a two-year travel ban, a two-year prohibition on joining social groups or organizations, and a ban on employment in public or state services.
