Mohammad Ebrahimi, a detainee from the January protests, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari.

HRANA news agency reported on August 26 that Ebrahimi was sentenced to 20 years in prison under Article 1 of the Law on “Intensifying Punishment for Espionage” on charges of “operational action for a hostile state contrary to national security.”

Mohammad Ebrahimi, a fine arts graduate from the University of Science and Culture, was arrested in Tehran on January 27. Following his arrest, he was initially transferred to Evin Prison before being moved to the Greater Tehran Prison.

Ebrahimi is currently serving his sentence in the Greater Tehran Prison.
