Arash Mirzaei, a resident of Bojnord who was arrested during the January protests, has been sentenced to three years in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Bojnord.
According to a report by HRANA, the court handed down the three-year prison sentence on charges of “assembly and collusion against national security.” Mirzaei, 19, is a resident of Bojnord County.
HRANA reported, based on information it received, that the verdict was issued in absentia and formally communicated to Mirzaei in late June.
A source close to his family told HRANA: “Arash Mirzaei went to the Bojnord court to follow up on a separate case when he was informed of his conviction by the Revolutionary Court.” The 19-year-old was initially arrested by security forces on January 4 in connection with the nationwide protests and was released on bail six days later.
