A 46-year-old woman was jailed pending trial on Tuesday over the deadly 2010 Marfin Bank firebombing, after denying the charges against her.
Prosecutors allege she was present near the “executive core” of the attackers and “substantially contributed to the main act, insofar as she reinforced the group’s collective action.”
She faces charges of homicide committed jointly and repeatedly.
Through her lawyer, Kostas Papadakis, she submitted a written statement. “I am innocent. I took part in the demonstration, but I have nothing to do with the incidents. I know my codefendants by sight, from the anarchist scene,” she reportedly told the investigating judge, referring to two 42-year-old men also held as codefendants in the case.
Her sister testified they were together at the rally, away from the bank. The May 5, 2010, firebombing killed three bank employees trapped inside by smoke.
