A new 3-kilometer section of Sofia Metro Line 3 along Vladimir Vazov Blvd. will open to passengers after noon on Friday, August 14, Metropolitan EAD announced. The extension includes three new stations and is expected to significantly improve public transport connections for residents in several northeastern neighborhoods of the capital.

The new stations are Georgi Asparuhov Stadium, Bessarabia and Gen. Vladimir Vazov. They will serve passengers traveling to and from the Levski, Levski B and Hadzhi Dimitar neighborhoods, providing a faster connection with other parts of Sofia.

The extension is expected to allow more than 45,000 additional people to use the metro each day. The project is part of the continued expansion of Sofia's underground transport network and is intended to provide a faster, more convenient and more environmentally friendly alternative to road transport.

Four additional Siemens metro trains will also enter service following the opening of the new section. The trains are equipped with advanced systems and will operate on the extended Line 3 to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic.

Metropolitan CEO Nikolay Naydenov thanked residents of Hadzhi Dimitar, Levski B and Levski G for their patience and cooperation throughout the construction of the extension.
