Several stations on Athens Metro Line 3 will close earlier than normal on weekday nights as part of ongoing rail replacement works.

Starting Sunday, the Syntagma, Evangelismos and Megaro Moussikis stations will close at 9:40 p.m. from Sundays through Thursdays, about 2 and a half hours before the end of regular service. Syntagma will remain open for passengers using Metro Line 2.

During the overnight works, Line 3 trains will operate in two separate sections: between Dimotiko Theatro and Monastiraki stations, and between Ambelokipi and Doukissis Plakentias stations. Limited airport service will continue, with trains departing from Ambelokipi.

The Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) will provide a temporary shuttle bus service, Route X23, connecting Monastiraki and Ambelokipi stations during the closures.

STASY said the restrictions are necessary to complete infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the reliability and safety of daily metro services.
