Macassar residents queuing for water
Residents of Macassar Beach, Kramat and Sandvlei are demanding answers from the City after repeated pipe bursts disrupted their water supply for four days.
Community representative Christiaan Stewart described the situation as a complete failure of service delivery, saying residents had been forced to struggle without a reliable water supply while treated water continued to leak from damaged pipes.
“For four days now, we have had water problems at Sandvlei, Kramat and Macassar Beach,” Stewart said.
“Where are the engineers of Water and Sanitation? Where is the accountability? This is not maintenance. This is neglect.
