Authorities have discovered a marijuana farm camouflaged in a forest in southern Greece and are seeking members of a drug gang that camped out for weeks to tend the cannabis plants and guard the extensive facilities, police said Sunday.
A total 890 cannabis saplings of up to 1.8 meters in height were discovered at the farm in a remote rural area near the town of Kiato in the Peloponnese, a police statement said.
Nobody was present when the farm was raided Saturday, but police found and seized tents where the guards lived and cooked, as well as an extensive irrigation network. The cannabis plants were seized and destroyed.
