Two small marijuana farms have been found and destroyed in different parts of Greece, while one suspected drug-grower has been arrested, authorities said Friday.
In a village near Preveza in western Greece, police said they arrested a Greek man Thursday following a tip-off for growing ten cannabis saplings up to two meters in height.
And near Kavala in northern Greece, Coast Guards discovered and uprooted 76 saplings and trees of up to 3.6 meters in height Thursday growing on private land along the banks of an irrigation canal.
No arrests were announced.
Authorities in many parts of Greece have in recent weeks destroyed thousands of cannabis trees that could potentially have produced millions of euros worth of marijuana.
