A large cannabis plantation hidden in a remote forest, guarded by at least one drug dealer and equipped with security cameras has been found and destroyed in the southern Peloponnese region, authorities said Wednesday.
A police statement said an estimated 168 kilograms of marijuana could potentially have been harvested from the farm in the northeastern Peloponnese region of Corinthia, with a street value of up to €504,000.
One man has been charged in connection with the raid, while police are seeking to identify others involved in the scheme.
A total 336 cannabis saplings were located and destroyed in Wednesday’s raid. Police said the farm was well screened by the surrounding forest and irrigated through a network of hosepipes linked to a specially built water reservoir.
