Greece is set for another day of sunny, summer weather on Sunday, with temperatures climbing across the country and highs reaching 32 to 34 degrees Celsius in most areas.
Atmospheric conditions are also expected to carry African dust into Greece, primarily affecting the western mainland and the Ionian region. Winds will remain generally light at 3-4 Beaufort, although north to northwesterly winds in the Aegean Sea will strengthen to 4-6 Beaufort, especially around southern island groups.
Athens will see clear skies with temperatures ranging from 20 to 33 degrees, while Thessaloniki is forecast to reach 32 to 33 degrees under mostly sunny conditions.
The warming trend will continue Monday, when temperatures are expected to reach 35-37 degrees Celsius, with isolated inland areas climbing to 38 degrees.
Brief afternoon showers or isolated thunderstorms may develop over northern mountain regions, while African dust is expected to linger before temperatures ease slightly by midweek.
