The African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Oyekan Abiodun, has criticised Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Okunjimi John Odimayo, over the deplorable condition of the Ore-Okitipupa Road.
In a personally signed statement issued on Tuesday, Abiodun described the road as a "death trap," accusing the political leadership in Ondo State of failing residents despite repeated complaints about the condition of the federal highway.
He said the Ore-Okitipupa Road, which serves as a major link between Ore and the Ikale, Ilaje and Ese-Odo areas of Ondo State, had remained in a deplorable state for the past two years, causing hardship for commuters, transport operators, traders and other road users who depend on the route for their daily economic and social activities.
According to him, residents had repeatedly raised concerns over the deteriorating state of the road without receiving the desired response from the relevant authorities.
