The African Action Congress (AAC) in Osun State has alleged that the newly commissioned LAMECO Flyover in Osogbo is developing structural defects, calling on the Osun State Ministry of Works, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to immediately investigate the project.
In a statement issued on Friday by its State Publicity Secretary, Akinlade Semiu Babatunde, the opposition party described the flyover as a "death trap," accusing the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of exposing thousands of road users to danger through what it called a substandard infrastructure project.

"We reject totally this regime of substandard, white-elephant projects. From day one, we warned that these flyovers were needless, wasteful, and had nothing to do with the needs of the people," the statement read.
