The residents of a village on the island of Evia were told on Saturday to evacuate in a message sent via the emergency number 112 due to a wildfire in a nearby area that broke out earlier in the day.
The message told residents of Episkopi to evacuate towards Vryssi.
The blaze started in an area with scattered houses nearby on the eastern coast of the island.
A force of 35 firefighters with 12 fire engines, two water-dropping helicopters and four aircraft is in the area.
